Welcome to my auction for this excellent BMW 316i Compact. This is the higher spec SE model, finished in Titanium Silver with dark grey interior. This car has stayed with the same lady owner since 2002 and I think it's a rare find - there simply aren't many Compacts in this price range in such condition and with such nice mileage and provenance.
The car was first registered in September 1999 on a "V" plate and has covered just 75K miles. The BMW has been very well looked after from new, still is in excellent condition and comes with full service history and a FULL MOT until May 2009.
This SE spec car has Air Conditioning, Leather steering wheel, BMW Business stereo with changer, ASC traction control, electric front windows and mirrors, computer, ABS, Airbags, Alloy wheels, Fog lamps, rear head rests etc etc...
The E36 Compact is a viable alternative to a C-Class Mercedes, Volkswagen Golf MK4, Audi A3 etc. These cars are capable of covering high mileages and the materials are durable and hard wearing. The 316i is easy to live with on a day-to-day basis, fantastic to drive, quiet and comfortable even on very long journeys. The interior is superbly though out and numerous adjustments help for a good driving position. The E36 in general has a very good safety rating and is equipped with ABS, driver and passenger airbags, side impact bars, seat belt tensioners etc.
The 1.9 litre petrol engine (105 Bhp) is smooth and quiet, has plenty of torque and pulling power and on longer journeys offers realistic 38-40 MPG in this manual gearbox version. The engine is chain driven and there are no timing belts that require replacing.

V36DMG is completely original and comes with FULL MOT until May 2009, V5C registration certificate, BMW document wallet with the owners handbook, stamped service book, a folder with bills and receipts, audio guide, full toolkit, locking wheelnut key, original first aid kit and all four original keys.
6 months road tax are available with the car for £17.00 for each remaining month (or part of) at the date of sale. I will provide the winning bidder with 7 days FREE insurance cover so the car can be driven away absolutely legally.
History:
This particular BMW started it's life in private ownership and it's first custodian was based on Canvey Island. He covered only around 20000 miles and in May 2002 traded it in against a brand new car. The Compact was then sold by Fairfield BMW, Leigh-On-Sea as an approved used vehicle to it's second and last keeper - a lady from Westcliff-On-Sea. She didn't cover long mileages (did a total of 50000 miles in 6 years) and has just upgraded to a new vehicle. The 316i, which was traded-in, is looking for a good new home again. You can also see the service book entries below. The last service was carried out at 68339 miles and the car has just had a new air flow meter at 73000 miles.

Mechanical condition:
As you would rightly expect from a car with such nice mileage and provenance it still is in excellent mechanical condition. The engine is free from leaks or rattles, always starts at the turn of the key and is smooth and quiet with the temperature always normal. The cooling system, brakes, suspension, clutch and gearbox all work fine. The car drives and handles superbly, the engine has a lot of pulling power and if treated with care and driven sensibly this BMW can provide you with plenty of practical and reliable motoring in style. And plenty of smiles per gallon of course.
Bodywork:
This is the dechromed facelifted version and the exterior looks great. Condition wise it's absolutely fantastic and the car certainly looks a lot better than many newer cars. I don't say this often about a used car but the exterior is almost unmarked. I can only see a couple of tiny scratches on the offside rear quarter (touched up) and a tiny ding by the rear BMW badge. There is also a tiny stone chip on the windscreen, way too small to be a MOT issue. And really this is it. As I hope you can see, the car looks almost as new and the minor cosmetic defects don't spoil it's looks at all.
All tyres are very good quality BF Goodrich and have plenty of thread - around 4-5mm apiece. The spare is also inj very good condition. The 15" multispoke alloy wheels are almost free of kerbing marks, look superb and really set the car off.
Interior
The interior is also in very good condition and you won't feel that this car has covered the 75K miles shown on the odometer... As I hope the pictures show it's very clean. The carpets must have been protected from new by overmats and are in very good condition and so are the steering wheel rim and dasboard trim. The ashtrays and cigarette lighter are completely unused and best of all there are no signs of a dog in the car. Even the boot is nice and clean with only minor scuffs on the trim.
All electrical and electronic equipment works as it should including the windows, mirrors, central locking, stereo, displays and lighting etc. The Air Conditioning works superbly and can be icy cold if required. Just one minor fault to disclose - after a valet this week the airbag warning light came on - probably due to moving the front seats.
Customer expecations:
Please bear in mind that this BMW is no longer new. It is now almost nine years old, many moons have passed since it left the factory and it's not 100% perfect so do have realistic expectations. It still is an excellent, solid and reliable little motor which can be used daily and will provide its new owner with a lot of comfortable trouble free miles for not much cash. The price of the car new with the options was around £15K and now I am asking for around 20% of this!
This is a fantastic lady owned example, very well looked after, has great provenance and history AND is HPI clear, has high spec including climate control, long MOT and had a good valet and two new tyres this week. And can be delivered to you for less than the price of some train tickets.

For your peace of mind: If you arrive to collect the car but find that I have knowingly misdesribed or misrepresented it you will be free to walk away without completing the purchase and I will not leave negative feedback. In fact if I think that you are not entirely satisfied with the car I will prefer not to sell it. If however this happens after the car has been delivered to you the full delivery charge will still apply.
I will accept cash payment upon collection of the car or bankers draft subject to verification. I also accept most major Credit and Debit cards (except AMEX). PLEASE NOTE: Credit Card payments have 2% surcharge. Debit card payments do not have surcharges. For card payments with customer present I will require proof of ID to match the name on the card and you must know your PIN number. In case you require delivery, the payment will be taken by phone in advance and the car will only be delivered to the address the card is registered on, again an ID will be required.
The vehicle is HPI clear - NO plate transfers, not on finance, not subject to insurance total loss, not stolen, no mileage discrepancy etc. Printout confirming this status will be provided.
The car is located and can be viewed in Willesden, NW London - easy access from M4, A40, M1 and A406. I can deliver the vehicle within 160 miles from London (subject to my discretion and your preferred times, if you are unable to collect from London please ensure I can deliver to your area before bidding, especially if it is a rural area). The delivery charges are set at £49 + VAT up to 50 miles, £69 +VAT up to 90 miles, £89 +VAT up to 120 miles and £119 + VAT up to 160 miles from NW10. Some deliveries are subject to a deposit - please email me in advance or call me to arrange delivery before bidding.
