All six reels will fit on 2x DVD's & be divided by chapters on a scene selection menu with a title for each reel labelled on the menu in any order you request.

What exactly is this auction?


This 'buy it now' auction is for a high quality digital transfer of 5 x 7inch 400ft reels of 8mm, Super 8mm, or 16mm movie film to DVD!

We will transfer your old movie film flicker free and 100% digital, colour corrected, crisp clarity, direct DVD or mini DV
(please provide blank tape if you would like on mini dv)

You post us your film's, we transfer them to DVD, your films and DVD's are mailed back, films are returned usually in better condition than sent.

 

Searching for an old projector to view your films?

First of all, I wouldn't waste money on a projector.
These machines are from the 1950's to 1970's and the 'good' ones left are not cheap!
Even good ones can chew up film that once destroyed can not be repaired or replaced.
A refurbished one be prepared to pay at least £300, + £15 postage

EDITING

If you are thinking, well I want one to view my films and put them in order before sending them off for transfer, I wouldn't bother with that either, our DVD's and mini DV's are easily importable to your computers hard drive, and with many easy to use, affordable editing programs on the market, you can rearrange, cut out boring footage, add titles, voice over, favourite music and cool DVD menu screens, to name just a few cool features! 

But wait there's more!

If you are still gung ho about a projector for a D.I.Y Transfer....

The flicker generated by the difference in frame rates between the projection and a standard camcorder is enough to make you and your loved ones go into a seizure!

A good video camera that is going to pick up great detail and colour to do your film justice is going run you at least a $1K-$3K. Then there are the DVD recorders, the video enhancers, colour correctors etc etc! 

Patience!

If you are still die hard about a DIY transfer, you need patience!
Film is the most fickle forms of media, it breaks, it burns, it's up side down, on so on!
Have you ever seen 400ft of film on the floor?
It's not a pretty sight, and not fun trying to find where it begins and ends!
