Generally acknowledged as THE best sounding surround-sound processor, Theta's Casablanca is a monumental piece of work - it has pulled off the extraordinary feat of being rock-solid, endlessly upgradeable and configurable, while producing the most beautiful sound of any controller anywhere. Unleash this on your surround-sound speakers and you'll never leave home again..!
"The Casablanca's dynamic verve is riveting; its ability to envelop the listener unprecedented." The Absolute Sound Review, 2006
If you're not familiar with the Casablanca, it's an almost limitlessly flexible processor, built like a tank, with a choice of cards for sound and video-switching. It decodes all the usual sound formats and includes Theta's own Circle Sound II algorhythm. It can accommodate up to a total of 12 output channels! To assist in setting-up it comes with a PC software programme, and you can also store all your settings as a file on your computer.
“... leave all the limits in the rear-view mirror. This home theater system is nothing less than an assault on the current state-of-the-art.” “Few products have enjoyed such a long run at the top as Theta's Casablanca, which has been the high-end choice in a digital controller for years.” “The 'Blanca signature is a miraculous blend of resolution, powerful dynamic contrast, and smooth natural, undigital textures. Like the best components, its main strength may be that it sounds less like a component, allowing the program material to be experienced in full..” Shane Buettner, Neil Gader, Robert Harley, Chris Martens, and Jonathatn Valin —The Perfect Vision

Currently it's labelled as Front Left, Front Right, Centre and Sub1, although this configuration can be changed in the Setup. (I've not used a Centre speaker or Sub for a while so the Extreme Dac has been handling Front Left + Right plus Surrround Left + Right.)
2 x Superior Quality Dacs – 3 Channel Balanced DAC (Each of the 3 Channels provides an XLR Balanced and a Summed Single Ended Output), Differential Balanced Digital Dual DAC Supports up to 96 kHz Sample Rates, 2 Differential Balanced Precision Analog Resistive Step Ladder Attenuators (Digitally Controlled) per Channel
...Giving a total of 10 possible output channels!
“...the products we’ve chosen are, in our collective opinion, the performance and value leaders in their categories." For the “Best of the Best” of their 7 recommended Complete Home Systems: “To drive your surround system, we once more recommend the nonpareil Theta Casablanca controller." (Casablanca III Xtreme DAC version) The Perfect Vision July & August 2004 issue.
This is a 120v model and comes with a 240v/120v converter (see photo). It's in beautiful black and is in immaculate condition, apart from some marks on the right side (see photo) which I managed to make taking it out of the rack. The good news is, you'll never see them once it's tucked away in your rack. I've used this processor with Theta and Meridian Reference DVD players and the sound is truly awesome AND musical, rare among sound processors, with both movie soundtracks AND cds (even rarer for a sound proecssor!). I'm only selling because I'm moving to the USA and can't take it with me - a tragedy since it's already a 120v model!
It comes complete with a comprehensive manual, Theta remote, US mains lead, voltage converter, and software CD. It will be shipped complete in its original box and packaging. The unit is heavy so shipping will be expensive. Please email for a quote for shipping outside the UK. Will ship worldwide but buyer is responsible for any import duties, fees, documents.
I want to sell it faster and i want to find a buyer immediately. So please contact me quickly !!
