Tracy is on the verge of marrying a wealthy stuffed shirt, much safer than Dex, whom starts trying to win Tracy's heart again. Meanwhile Mike Connor (James Stewart), a tabloid reporter, also falls for Tracy while covering the nuptials for his magazine. Tracy must choose between the three men as she discovers that "safe" can mean "deadly dull" when it comes to husbands and lifestyles. Writer Donald Ogden Stewart took the film's second Oscar® for adapting Philip Barry's play, which had starred Miss Hepburn.
