This Limited Edition ULTIMATE Toughbook that is up for auction touts a 1.2 GHz Centrino low voltage mobile processor, 1.24 GB RAM, A NEW 160GB, 5400 RPM hard drive with hard drive heater, an OEM GPS system with Active Patch antenna, 3.5" removable floppy drive, removable DVD Rom Optical Drive (Burns CDs and plays DVDs), a 13.3" Transmissive LCD Screen (Daylight readable), integrated HIGH POWER WiFi card, integrated modem & LAN and it comes fully loaded with all drivers installed and an authorized and activated version of Windows XP Professional. (The Certificate of Authenticity sticker for the operating system is affixed to the bottom of the laptop and comes fully updated up to the point of sale!) Of course it also comes with the usual USB 2.0 port, parallel port, serial port, PS2/Mouse port, VGA port, docking port, two open PCMCIA card slots, touchpad, as well as headphone and microphone jacks. EXTRA HARDENING - (This is a new option for The Ultimate Toughbook!) This particular Ultimate Toughbook has been totally reworked to provide exceptional protection against water intrusion and corrosion. This laptop has had all of the port cover seals and sealing surfaces stress relieved and then treated to provide superior protection against water intrusion. Over the years I have developed a Custom Silicone Compound that not only blocks water from entering... It actually repels it! (You can't use just any silicone as some contain compounds that will EAT the seals!) Many of the stock fasteners have been replaced with new high strength, heat treated, black oxide hex-head fasteners. These have also been treated with Permatex Blue threadlocker to ensure there will never be any loose fasteners.

OEM GPS - This ULTIMATE Toughbook comes with an OEM GPS system.Coupled with it is an active patch GPS antenna... This GPS system doesn't require line-of-sight to get a fix as the older systems did. This is an INTERNAL GPS system! I have included several GPS programs to give you very basic info as to your location. Latitude, longitude, altitude, direction and speed are all covered with the programs. I will also install MS Streets & Trips for anyone using the Buy-It-Now option. Then you can start using this powerful GPS system with street by street navigation system to start finding your way as soon as you take it out of the box!.

This is an INTERNAL GPS system! No little USB or Bluetooth GPS box to drop or lose!!! I mean... The whole point to the Toughbook series, other than durability, was to be able to grab it and go! Why would you want to also lug around a Bluetooth or USB GPS system? Yes... It costs a lot more to add it internally but it will outlast any other GPS system being offered on ebay today!

This CF-29 also is equipped with a hard drive heater so you cannot damage this laptop by operating it in the freezing cold as you can other laptops. If the laptop senses cold temperatures it will gently warm the hard drive and bring it up to proper operating temperature before it will be allowed to start. Since laptop hard drives have "fluid bearings" instead of the steel bearings of their desktop cousins this is of great importance!  What do the other sellers offer??? The old 40GB or 60GB hard drives?

RAM Memory - The ULTIMATE Toughbook comes equipped with the maximum amount of RAM that can be installed! (1.24 GB!) There is a base amount of 256MB of RAM Memory as well as brand new 1GB stick of Crucial brand RAM Memory. This makes this laptop FLY compared to stock specs!   What do the other sellers offer? Usually just the base RAM that come soldered to the motherboard! Maybe 512MB tops!

This CF-29 ULTIMATE Toughbook in VERY GOOD condition. The screen is FLAWLESS with NO dead pixels! Usually Toughbooks are worn out when they are auctioned off or sold. This one led a fairly easy life in a mount or replicator. As you see from the pictures... This laptop is a 9 out of 10.

Why take a chance on anything else!

No flash used... They hide scratches! Only a few scratches here!

Part of the custom hardening process is switching out old fasteners for new fasteners that are MUCH stronger and have much better corrosion resistance. On the LCD top and a few other places on The Ultimate Toughbook, the old fasteners have been replaced with high strength, heat treated, black oxide hex-head fasteners. These fasteners have also been treated with Permatex Blue threadlocker to ensure they will not come loose. This also helps against water intrusion as well.

The bottoms of Toughbooks usually take the most abuse. Most sellers won't show you pictures of them because of this. This one has only a few wear marks showing it led a fairly easy life.

All Port Covers are in place and fully functional!

To further harden this laptop against water intrusion the port cover seals and sealing surfaces have been stress relieved and then treated with a special silicone compound that I developed. Water is NOT getting into this laptop via the port covers unless you leave them open!
