This is the much sought-after weekly motoring magazine The Car, published by Orbis Publishing in 1984 and 1985, and comprises of 24 high quality colour pages. Artwork was specially prepared for this publication (see photo of centre pages) and illustrations were sourced from the best UK and European photo libraries. It was sold here in the United Kingdom to eventually form a bound encyclopedia. For clarity, we have tried to show both key sections of the publication using two copies. Of course you are bidding for the one, still stapled copy.

This publication has a wealth of information covering the classic car scene, and specifically has articles on the following:

Week number 47. This vehicle features heavily in this magazine with several really nice colour photographs and a good comprehensive history editorial. The centre section formed a very impressive foldout colour cutaway (ghosted) diagram of the 1938 12-cylinder vehicle (205 x 410 mm approx.), and would look absolutely delightful if framed. See the photo with this auction; sorry about the flash photography, the actual artwork is a lot better than what can be produced here on your screen.

The makes Maybach, Mazda, McFarlan, McLaughlin, Mercedes and Mercedes-Benz each have an illustrated synopsis at the rear.
