THE BEATLES Shea Stadium 1966 Reproduction Concert Poster

This is a high quality lithograph reproduction concert poster for The Beatles at the Shea Stadium in New York, with an 'All Star Show'. The Beatles are among the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music. Their innovative music and cultural impact helped define the 1960s. In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the Beatles #1 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

The Beatles led the mid-1960s musical 'British Invasion' into the United States, and became the highest grossing concert act of the 1960s. Although their initial musical style was rooted in 1950s rock and roll and homegrown skiffle, the group explored genres ranging from Tin Pan Alley to psychedelic rock. Their clothes, styles, and statements made them trend-setters, while their growing social awareness saw their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s. Their musical legacy remains unparalleled to this day. This is an historical poster in that it was the fourth to the last public concert they performed, becoming disillusioned with the low quality of the sound and overwhelmed by the 'Beatlemania' the tours endured. After this tour the band concentrated on recording and developing the new direction their sound was to take.

A note on these reproductions ... The 1965 Shea concert was on Aug 15, and the 1966 Shea concert was on Aug 23. There are many repos out there that are not accurate and show the 1966 date on a 1965 poster. If you are going to buy a reproduction, be sure you are getting one that is at least historically accurate, a reproduction of the actual poster and not just a 'poser poster' that never existed. This high quality reproduction is lithographed on heavy stock, measuring approx. 12.5 x 19" and is in mint condition. FREE handbills included!
