This registration number can be transferred to any age of vehicle provided it is currently taxed & tested. It cannot be put on a retention certificate until after the first transfer has been completed.
Important: Please only bid if you have a taxed & MoT'd vehicle (if old enough to require MoT) available to assign the number to and can provide all your vehicle documents (see below) within 14 days of the auction ending.
In addition to the bid price, the buyer will also pay the Government Transfer Fee of £80.
Payment of the bid price is required within 3 days of the auction ending.
Buyer's vehicle documents are required within 14 days of the auction ending.

What happens if my bid is successful?
I will post you a transfer form to sign (I can email it in pdf format if you prefer)
You will need to send the following:
1. The signed transfer application form
2. V5 vehicle registration document (logbook)
3. MOT certificate (if your vehicle is old enough to require one)
4. Photocopy of the current valid tax disc
5. Cheque for £80 made payable to “Department of Transport” (the transfer fee)
What happens to my vehicle documents?
I complete all the paperwork and send it to the appropriate vehicle licensing office.
On completion of the transfer you will receive a tax disc for the new registration number with the same expiry date as your current one, your MoT certificate amended to show the new registration number, and a new V5 (logbook) from DVLA Swansea.
How long does the transfer process take?
Completion time is dependant on how busy the vehicle licensing office is, but currently transfers are taking 3-5 weeks from date of submission.
