What is T-molding?

T-molding is the decorative plastic trim, which resides on the outer edge of arcade cabinets and many other products.

 

What width T-molding does my arcade cabinet require?

Typical standard size game cabinets require a 3/4" plastic T-molding. However, some game manufacturers require a slightly smaller width, such as 5/8" or 9/16".

I advise you to measure the width of your cabinet before ordering, just to be on the safe side.

 

1/2" = 12.700mm

9/16” = 14.288mm

5/8" = 15.875mm

11/16” = 17.462mm

3/4" = 19.050mm

13/16” = 20.368mm

7/8" = 22.225mm

1" = 25.400mm

1.5" = 38.100mm

 

How much T-molding do I need for my upright / cocktail cabinet?

Standard cocktail tables require 10'-12'. Standard uprights require 20' (10' per side).

However, be advised that some games machines have T-molding that runs all the way behind the cabinet. Those games require a total of 32' (or 16' per side).

The best way to know for sure is to take a quick measurement.

 

What colours does T-molding come in?

It is available in lots of colours depending on the width;

 

The 1/2" colours are:

White, Black, Dark blue, Dark red and Yellow.

All of which are all the same as the 3/4" of the matching named colour but in a 1/2" width.

 

The 9/16" colours are:

White, Black, Dark blue, Dark red and Yellow.

All of which are all the same as the 3/4" of the matching named colour but in a 9/16" width.

 

The 5/8" colours are:

White, Black, Dark red, Dark blue, Light blue, Yellow, and (Black Chrome Black);

All of which are all the same as the 3/4" of the matching named colour but in a 5/8" width.

 

The 11/16” colours are:

White, Black, Dark red, Dark blue, and Yellow.

All of which are all the same as the 3/4" of the matching named colour but in a 11/16" width.

 

The 3/4" colours are:

Chrome and Gold which are a metal effect, White, Black, Dark blue, Light blue, Dark green, Light green, Dark grey, Putty grey, Light grey, Dark red, Light red, Yellow, Purple and Orange which are all smooth in texture.

A Black leather effect which is textured, to look like leather and a new type called: (Black chrome black).

This is a highly polished black with a chrome stripe.

            Beware this makes it stiffer, and slightly wider on the ribbed bit that fits into the groove; as a result of this the groove         

      needs to be 2mm wide instead of the normal 1.5mm.

Please note that Orange and Light green colours are perfectly matched to the originals.

(The Orange T-molding is for Pac-Man, the Light Green is for a Gala Xian and the Purple matches the Happ purple controls, ”Pushbuttons”).

 

The 13/16" colours are:

White, Black, Dark red, Dark blue, Yellow and Chrome mettal effect.

All of which are all the same as the 3/4" of the matching named colour but in 13/16" width.

 

The 7/8" colours are:

Black, White, Dark red, Dark blue, Putty grey, Yellow, and a textured Black leather effect.

All of which are all the same as the 3/4" of the matching named colour but in a 7/8" width.

 

The 1” colours are:

White, Black, Dark red, Dark blue, and Yellow.

All of which are all the same as the 3/4" of the matching named colour but in a 1" width.

 

The 1.5” colours are:

White, Black, Dark red, Dark blue, and Yellow.

All of which are all the same as the 3/4" of the matching named colour but in a 1.5" width.

 

This is professional T-mold edging which is hard to find on sale in the UK.

Spec: 3/4" T-Molding (0.75") (19.5mm)
