This is a Stoughton WI Syttende Mai (17th of May) from 1988. These pinbacks are issued each year and serve as admission to the weekend events celebated each year on the weekend closest to May 17th commemorating the signing of the Nowegian Constitution. The current series of pinbacks for the Syttende Mai Folk Festival started in 1961 and continue each year to date. The booster buttons are 2 1/2 inches in diameter and the ones I am offering for sale are in mint/near mint condition. This commemorates out Sister City in Norway, Gjobik(pronounced "Your-Vick) The swan is a symbol of that city. Got an empty spot in your Syttende Mai collection from Stoughton WI (the Norwegian capital of the USA)?
