Superb Art Deco 1930s Oak Desk

This really lovely oak desk from the first half of the last century.  This style of desk has become increasingly popular and this is a nice example and is a great quality piece. This desk's beauty comes from its simple and chunky construction.   It has a nice warm colour it is in generally good overall used condition, with some marks and scratches and pen mark consistent with a piece of this age.  It would suit any home or office and would sit nicely in both contemporary and traditional interiors. The top is inlaid with the original brown leather writing area.  The desk sits on beautiful chunky feet typical is this era.

The desk is a useful size and offers plenty of working area and storage, there is a large central drawer,  the left hand pedestal has a further three drawers, and the right has two drawers (one is double depth).  All the drawers have the original carved handles.  Overall a good authentic desk that is ready to use.

The desk is beautifully made with dove tail joins on each drawer.  The drawers also have locks but I do not have the keys.

The desk measures  54" W x 30"D and is 30" H,  the kneehole is 22"W.

I purchased this desk 6 years ago from a store in Islington for £795 but regrettably need to sell it as it is too large for my new office.
