Description

  

Offered for sale is this absolutely wonderful, mid victorian ladies sketch album. The album measures 7 & 1/8 inches by 4 & 3/4 inches approx.

Original exterior with brass clasp. Dated to the inside for 1854, artist looks like J M Turner. Appears to be the Original pencil to the slot at the side. The paintings have a lovely 'loosely painted' quality about them.

The album contains many pencil drawings and watercolours of various landscapes, some interior scenes. The majority of the paintings/sketches are of the Isle of Wight, over 50 paintings/drawings. As well as some interesting drawings, for instance a drawing of a very large oak. In most cases details of the scene are handwritten on the page opposite.

The album is in good condition, some age related wear to the exterior, the album has some blank and unused pages. See photos, some age related marks, but overall good order.
