This is the quintessential view of the original Yankee Stadium.  Sadly, it is a view that will never be seen again because demolition of this historic ballpark, built in 1923, has begun and a new Yankee Stadium now stands accross the street.  It will take decades, if ever, until the new home of the Bronx Bombers acquires even the slightest legendary repute such as that earned by the House that Ruth Built.

This dramatic panorama of the outfield depicts the view from near the visitors' dugout during a game in the summer of 2008.  Looming beyond the classic facade is the stone edifice of the Bronx Supreme Court - built in 1933. 

Although this is a watercolor print, the detail is fantastic.  The edges of objects and people are sharp, while also washed in natural colors.
