For auction is another one of my dwindling watch collection!

I had wanted a pie-pan dial Constellation for years and finally got this one a few years ago for the princely sum of £650.  Sadly as my circumstances are changing I'm having to part with it.  It is from approximately 1960 to 1970 with an automatic 561 caliber movement.  The watch was fully serviced in July 2007 and works superbly and the watchmaker confirmed all was signed as it should be inside. I had it serviced as the watch seemed "tight" if I partially wound it via the crown - this is totally unnecessary now as it starts by merely picking it up and resetting the time if it's not been worn for some time.  The inside of the case back says Acier Inoxoyable Omega Watch Co.  It also has the numbers 14902 61 90 on the inside case back.

Gender: Male

Case: 33 mm excluding crown.  It's a lovely mix of stainless steel (the rear and underside) coated in (I think gilt but may be gold-plate) and is hardly marked other than a few hairline scratches that could easily be polished out.  The gilt/gold is not worn in any way and has no marks or dings.  The stepped lugs are completely unmarked, no creases or scrapes as you quite often see on watches of this age. All-original Omega crown as you would expect. Gold Omega observatory logo on the rear is as it should be with 8 stars on view in good condition.

Dial: All-original silver pie pan dial.  For those who don't know this nickname arose as the dial resembles an upside down pie dish - I think the name originates in the USA.  I met an ex-Omega salesman a few years ago and he said they used to refer to this style of dial as the "threepenny bit dial"! He also told me this model was the then-top of the range Omega!  The hours are marked with gold batons, there is a date window at the 3-o-clock (date rolls over EXACTLY at 12 as it should) and it has the embossed Omega symbol and Constellation star as can be seen in the photos. The only slight flaw on the dial is a wee "lump" between the 11 and 12 which was present when I bought it and my watchmaker said would be caused by a previous service engineer screwing something on the movement a little too hard causing the blemish on the dial.  He reckoned the lump could easily be "pressed" out but frankly I didn't have it done as it didn't bother me and it's hardly noticeable but I wanted to be scrupulously honest.

Movement:  24 jewels and says tested 5 positions and temperature. There is also the number 19407359 on the movement - all working superbly and keeping good time.

Hands: All-original gold arrow hands plus gold second hand. They were once luminescent but that has long-faded but to no detriment to the hands themselves.

Strap: Genuine light brown/tan leather - not Omega but very smart. Omega straps can easily be found on e-bay.

Overall: This is a gorgeous watch with a CORRECT pie-pan dial (I've seen loads of Omega Constellations that claim to have pie-pan dials and they clearly aren't??) that will only appreciate in value.  The fact it was serviced only 2 years ago can also help prolong it's life and the second hand starts moving virtually the second the watch gets picked up.  I hate to part with the watch but needs must!

There are several "pie-pan" dial Constellations on e-bay and they seem to be priced anywhere from £895 to £1200 so grab yourself a bargain - I can assure you my reserve price is NOWHERE NEAR those prices!!!!

A: Hi Gary, Not at this time as it's been on before with a BIN so I thought I'd try and auction it with a realistic reserve price. Thanks for the question.
