Studer B67 repair kit
   

 The Studer B67 has some known issues with capacitors going short circuit, one of the problems are the reel motor's spin off uncontrollably, usually there is a sulphur smell just before the fault occurs, the fault is quite commonly capacitors going short circuit.

There are two boards inside the machine besides each motor, these are the ones which have the fault and are pictured in the image to the left, the blue capacitors are what are used to replace the semi transparent ones which can be seen to the right of the image (you may notice the crack in the old one where its gone short circuit).

These capacitors have been selected for their size and their voltage handling capabilities, many capacitors will not physically fit or will touch the reel motors when installed.

 These are brand new replacement parts, I have experimented with these on 3 Studer B67's including MK I and MK II with no problems at all, "Vintage Recorders" takes no responsibility for incorrect installation or end user damage to their machines.

This is no guarantee this will fix your fault, the B67 has many electronics which can cause this known issue (Example the power transistor going short circuit), however in the 7 machines I have done recently, the faults have always been this.
