This is a bit of a change from the usual birds and it has been very cleverly carved out of one piece of Laburnum (Laburnum anagyroides). The piece of wood used is a round section of a branch. Laburnum has a very distinct difference in colour between the heart wood and sapwood. The carver has made use of this to carve the head and tail of the stoat sticking out of a hollow tree stump. The stoat is carved from the dark brown heartwood whilst the hollow trunk is in the creamy coloured sapwood approx. 8 inches long by 2 inches in diameter. £5.00 Postage (second class) and Packing in the UK For more information about this or any product in this shop please contact guy@thetreehouse.co.uk
