Steve Earle hit the “New” country scene in 1986 with this terrific debut album, GuitarTown. He’s since gone on to shake up the image of country music and these days, is much more Americana/Rock/Protest orientated.
The roots are all here on this album though with such excellent tracks as Guitar Town, My Old Friend The Blues, Down The Road – and plenty more.

"Someday" highlights the perils of being trapped in a small town, with the last line giving some hope: "someday I'll put her on that interstate and never look back".
