Stained Glass Ornament (Hamsa) Blues

 This stained glass window ornament Hamsa has been handcrafted by myself using the copper foil method. The glass in this case (Blues water glass) has been cut to design where the edges of the glass is then wrapped in copper foil and soldered. A soldering bead is applied to the edges/outside of the Hamsa to give strength to the glass piece. A Glass Glob is used for the eye (Blue), copper foiled and soldered into the design. 

All my glass items are made this way to give strength to the pieces made which gives a long lasting gift/ornament. 

The soldering on the Hamsa was then polished to give a silver finishing effect.

In all religions, it is believed that the one who wears or hangs it in their home will be protected from the "evil eye" and it will bring positive energy, happiness, prosperity and health. The Hamsa (root means "five") symbolizes the creators protective hand.

The Hamsa measures approx 14cm in height and 10cm in width. A loop has been soldered on the top of the Hamsa ready to hang using fine string / thread or a suction cup (not included).
