WHAT IS PEWTER?
Modern pewter is a lead-free alloy of tin mixed with a small proportion of another metal. Generally copper, antimony, bismuth or silver. Modern pewter is classified as Fine Pewter. The fact that there is no lead gives the figurines a finer appearance. It is a comparatively soft metal, silver gray in color and does not tarnish. Pewter is worked by casting, hammering, and turning.
