Wow! These stunning antique French silk chateau curtains/drapes are a real design statement. They would have originally graced the huge windows of a chateau or maison de maitre.
The fabric is silk - the background a warm cream, with a repeating medallion design of a stylised flower and acanthus leaf in moss green and tan. The size of the medallions is approx.. 3 inches. Down one side and along the bottom of each drape is a border in toning colours.
There are two tie-backs made of this fabric (see last photo).
The curtains are fully lined in a cream cotton sateen. They have an expertly made pleated heading with the original long metal hangers still in place.
Condition: very good, there are inevitably one or two very small marks on the silk, and the linings have discolouration in places near the bottom, a dry clean would probably easily remove these issues. There is no damage to the silk.
These curtains are huge! Along the bottom they measure 75 inches (6ft 3ins) and they are 129 inches (10ft 9ins) long.
As you can imagine, they are very heavy - 3.65kg unpacked - so whilst I am very happy to ship overseas, please be aware that this could be quite expensive (for example USA approx. £65; Australia £75).
