HEMUS HIGHWAY & Investment Potential
It is widely accepted that even one square metre of real estate will not be bought in vain in VT region. Its not only Brits investing here like those places "near the sea" but Bulgarians from all over the country, VT region has the second highest number of buyers after the now over crowded coast. Its simply gorgeous, enjoys year round tourism and allows almost anyone to get a piece of real estate today for a very favourable price.

Countless projects are attracting investment in the region, for example the new wineries, Nedan Golf Course and Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport. One such project is already well underway and not just one of those many “maybes”… the new Hemus Highway, set to drastically reduce travel times to both the coast and the capital Sofia.

Bulgaria has been building this road since the late fifties really, but it has stopped and started more times than anyone cares to remember. Today thanks to re-instated EU funding, the project is finally moving seriously along.
The good news for you is that the highway will pass directly by your village!

THE VILLAGE:
A good feature found here attracting visitors is the Museum Of World History . The museum houses displays from Bulgarian and World history including Roman Relics found right here. Varbovka was once a Roman settlement and several archaeological excavations have been carried out here. The curator of the museum tells that some of the Roman coins found here were exported to America some years ago. These coins wound their way to private collectors and have never been seen since. Its a great shame, however the curator remains very proud of his remaining collection and will happily spend hours telling the history of the village to anyone interested.

There are shops here offering every day wares at very low prices as well as bar diners offering you a very cheap refreshment or a good meal. They stay open until the last person leaves, so come enjoy your new setting in tranquility and calm.
There is over a dozen Brit owned homes that we know of personally, but for sure there will be more. A Brit owned Bed & Breakfast and language school has opened nearby, just one of several enterprises appearing nearby.

Under 10km from the main town of Pavlikeni which is soon to start its regeneration project, bringing new pedestrian areas, revamped public transport terminals and even more facilities for the whole family to enjoy. Here you have schools with English children already enrolled, supermarkets, banks, restaurants, discos, hardware stores and so on. Pretty much all you have in UK but at a fraction of the price! Regular public transport links the village of Varbovka and Pavlikeni, from where you can also take a train to any of the airport cities or how about a weekend break by train to Istanbul on the route of the former Orient Express?

There are even weekly transport links to Germany and Austria direct from Pavlikeni!
