Brand new leather and hessian South African made bush hat with leather trim. Authentic genuine item from Scopus made in South Africa. This a high quality authentic item, that is weather proof and will last a lifetime.

Beware of cheap non authentic fake bush hats on eBay. This is the real thing.

The Scopus Icon is the Thekwane or Hamerkop bird (Scopus umbretta) which is found in wetland areas of Southern Africa. The name is derived from the Zulu nickname of a magistrate many years ago. His hair stuck up at the back, so he looked a bit like a Thekwane. According to African folklore, this is a bird to be revered.
