Sony U-Matic Video Cassette Recorder VO-2631

Sony Videocassette recorder - its a u-matic machine, model number VO-2631 (no 40446).

The device powers up OK but we haven't been able to fully test it apart from that.  And unfortunately when attempting to test it with one of the tapes, it then refused to eject the tape - but hopefully that would be fixable by someone who knows about these devices?  
Or if not, would be useful for spares?

There are number of tapes with it - computer-related (eg re learning Fortran).

 Just to note that this item 'surfaced' during preparations for an office move.  Any money received will be added to a fund for a donation to a charity (Coram's Fields) but main purpose of putting it on ebay was to avoid having to throw it away (would seem a pity - as presume that someone/somewhere would find a use for it - even if only for parts).
