Sony U-Matic Player

Up for auction today is a Sony Video Cassette Player VP-2011, which plays the old 3/4" U-Matic tapes.  This item is definitely used, but is still in great physical condition.  There are some scuffs on the front of the unit, but aside from that there isn't any major damage.

We were able to do some testing to this item, and we did get it to power on.  Unfortunately, we don't have any U-Matic tapes to test this with, and most of the functions won't even try to work unless there's a tape inside.  The one button we could test was the eject button, which released the lock on the tape deck but it wouldn't actually pop the deck up.  It would seem there is a problem with the eject spring mechanism that is supposed to raise the tape deck.  The effect of this is that to open the tape deck you must press the eject button and then lift the tape deck by hand.

Due to our lack of U-Matic tapes to test with, we are selling this item as-is.  Item is guaranteed to be as described.
