SUITABLE FOR BREAKING FOR PARTS - HARD-DRIVE/BLU RAY PLAYER/BODY PARTS ETC

Console bought in error by my little brother as he was searching for a new Playstation 3 console.

I have attempted to fix the problem with the advice of on-line tutorials but the only solution is to send it back to Sony themselves to get them to fix and repair the unit.

As it is a Region 1 Playstation 3, there appears to be little reason to have it repaired in the UK as it would be unable to play British DVD's/Blu-rays/Games etc but suitable for breaking parts
or for an American/Canadian gamer.

It is boxed (the box has been a little damaged in transit from the states but is sturdy) and includes the following:

  • All manuals
  • American AC power lead
  • AV cable
Yet again be aware of the above when bidding for this item

A: I will post it Tuesday on royal mail's parcel force service and i believe it takes between three and five days for delivery (I'm saying that because we're just getting out of the royal mail strike!). Jim

A: It's in really good condition, just doesn't work properly and will need (probably) sending back to Sony to be repaired.

A: It doesn't work at all, the unit powers up and then gets stuck on a cycle which doesn't allow the hard-drive nor the blu-ray player to kick in..and then it just turns back off.

A: It would actually be quite extortionate via parcelforce worldwide. The cost hits around 100 pounds for a secure delivery of an item worth 200 pounds. I'd be very wary of sending it and probably wouldn't want to.... Continue reading

 Q: What exactly is wrong with the unit?
A: It powers up but then powers down immediately. Apparently it has something to do with the hard-drive not being able to access the software properly. Regards Jim
