Product Description
Sony's MDS-JE440 professional minidisc recorder is designed for basic recording and playback applications including as live sound, DJ recording, radio production, and A/V installation. Features include ATRAC/ATRAC 3 type "R" digital signal processing, 24-bit analog to digital converters, and wide bitstream technology, which maintains 20-bit precision through the recording process.
Connections include digital and analog audio inputs and outputs, and the unit permits text editing of artist and song data on a per-song basis. The MDS-JE440 model also offers an El Core power transformer that vastly reduces radiated hum, a digital sample-rate converter that allows easy digital transfer from other digital audio sources like as DAT. This option provides the ability to transfer CD-Text titles to MD during recording from CDs that contain CD-Text and are being played back on a CD player that recognizes it.
Other features include a long-play mode of up to five hours, 20 minutes of stereo on an "80-minute" minidisc, time-machine recording (which captures up to six seconds of audio into a convenient buffer memory prior to your pressing the record button), and digital record level adjustment (from menu or remote). Minidisc editing commands include track combine, divide, move, erase, A-B erase, undo, and rehearse, and Smart Space recording replaces blank space created by interruption. CD synchro recording allows synchronized record and playback using the supplied wireless remote with a compatible Sony CD player.
