A native WXGA (1024 x 768) resolution and 1.07 billion displayable colours brings out the sharpness of High Definition content, but unique Sony I/P signal processing also means the FWD-42PX2 will bring out the best of any source content from standard definition PAL TV up to UXGA PC content. The display can also be used in portrait or landscape orientation.
Dual option slots for maximum versatility

The BKM-FW10 board is supplied as standard to support composite video, S-Video and audio input right out of the box, but you can adapt the FWD-42PX2 to suit your specific requirements with additional Sony plug-in boards for Network Management, Digital Signage and additional A/V inputs.

Built-in audio amplifier and optional speakers:

The FWD-42PX2 is equipped with an audio amplifier for clear and powerful audio reproduction with enhanced modes such as Surround, Bass, Treble and Balance. The optional SS-SP42FW speaker set delivers great sound and features the same stylish design as the screen itself.

Wide range of acceptable signals from VGA to UXGA:

NTSC/PAL/SECAM/NTSC4.43/PAL60/PAL-M/PAL-N and most of the DTV formats

Picture-in-Picture (PiP) + Picture-and-Picture (PaP):

PiP and PaP allows you to watch two input sources at the same time. With PiP, one source will be displayed across the entire screen, while the other source is displayed on a smaller square of the screen. With PaP, two sources are displayed side by side.

Easy multi-display setup:

To set-up a Video Wall Multi Display, simply select your wall configuration (2x2 / 3x3 / 4x4) and then select the position of the screen within the grid. Couldn't be easier!
RS232C and Control-S

Control-S makes it easy for Sony A/V components to be linked together, for example daisy chain control of multiple displays. Alternatively, the industry-standard RS232C port can be used for applications which require display feedback. Status checks of the operational parameters and even failure codes can be read out via the RS232C port.

Control Panel Lock:

Disable the display's control panel (including the power button) to prevent unauthorised persons from changing the display's settings. This feature is accessed via the supplied remote control (RM-980) and On-Screen Display.

On/Off Timer:

Power on/off time can be programmed as hh:mm per day as well as specific day(s) of the week

Picture Settings Memory:

Up to 20 custom picture settings can be created and stored, with the On-Screen Display allowing precise adjustments of the signal sampling. This is in addition to built-in settings for common computer signals, video and HDTV signals.

Multiple Screen Saver functions:

Create interesting effects, save power and reduce burn-in of static images with the below built-in features; · Picture Orbiting · Picture Inversion · All White · Adjustable Background · Auto-Dimmer · Energy saving
