Sony CDP - 790 CD Player

I bought this CD player last year from Ebay to go in a second or third system.  I am now moving house and have to seiously cut back on the amount of hi-fi I've got!

To be honest I don't know much about the player - I think it dates from 1990-'92.  I have tried to source an owner's manual but can't find one on the internet. It is very well specified with some nice features.  As you might expect from Sony, it is also well built.  If anyone has any more information about this player please let me know so I can post it in the listing.

Good Bits

  • Clean and in full working order
  • Nice sounding player - smooth with plenty of detail.  This player will be ideal in a second (or third) system or as a budget way into seperates.  Judging from the quality of sound and the build quality this was probably about £300-£400 when new

Bad Bits

  • Some deep scratches on the case - at the back on top - it was like this when I got it.  If I was to keep it I was going to give it a spray with some black car paint
  • Remote control missing - this didn't bother me as the player was always easy to hand
  • No original packaging or documentation.  It will be well packed for shipment and the controls are straightforward to operate
