About Sonos

Sonos plays music in every room in your house via a zone player. Whether you want the same song in all rooms, or different songs in different rooms, Sonos gives you the flexibility to play digital music from your PC in every room that has a zone player. You can create playlists and queue as much music as you want wherever it is on your network. Different queues can be played in each room or you can create zones with a number of players playing the same thing. Party mode plays your queued music on all players. Volume can be controlled as a group or for individual players from anywhere in the house.

The system can be operated through your PC interface but a Sonos controller is better to give greater flexibility and portability. You can play music that is stored on your PC or other devices such as Hard disk storage or other peripherals like an iPod. You can access music through the internet using services such as Napster. This is a subscription service but Sonos comes wioth a free 30 day trial.

Sonos players connect to each other wirelessly or can use a wired PC network via standard routers and cat5 cable. There are two types of Zone player, a stand-alone ZP100 which has its own amplifier and just requires connection to speakers. The other is a ZP80 which couples your existing Hi-Fi into your Sonos system. By  plugging a ZP80 into your existing amplifier, you can play your digital music through your amplifier and speakers.

Installing Sonos couldn't be easier because it is wireless. After you have installed the software on your PC, you connect each Zone player to the power and a set of speakers.  The software does the rest!

You can add more zones to the system as your budget allows or your needs change. Zone players, Controllers and speakers are all available at our eBay shop.
