Description: This is as very nice quality solid oak two drawer hand-made 'ex Ministry' writing table desk. The desk stands on rounded corner square form legs, rising above which are two beautiful solid oak frieze drawers with solid oak linings, with solid brass pierced batwing handles, with shaped droppers, surmounted by a solid and veneered oak top with an inset green leather / leatherette skiver writing surface. The desk is polished on the reverse side, and is in very nice condition, and was once possibly a Ministry dressing table or ex Army dressing table, having now been converted into a beautiful writing table desk. The desk is of very nice quality and beautifully made and bears the mark "ERVIII" and Crown for "King Edward VIII".
