As will be apparent I don't know the use or origin of this object.  It is approximately 2" square and half an inch deep.  I have had it since about the 1950s and have dated it quite early in the 20th century because of the outfit that the skier is wearing which seems to me could be even earlier.   The skier seems to be jumping over a star.   I have done a little research but can find nothing similar or anything to explain the skier and star depiction.
