This straw skep measures approximately 38 x 38cm. 

A skep is very handy to have when catching swarms.  They provide great grip for bees to hang from whilst being light enough to handle easily.  Place the skep above a swarm and they will move up into the darkness.  Then lay a cloth on the ground and place the skep, with most of the bees in, on it. Prop the edge of the skep up to allow the remaining bees in.  Once all the bees are in the skep the cloth can be tied up and the swarm taken away.
