Silver Tomato / Muffin Server & Fork London 1921

This is I believe a Solid Silver Tomato Server & Fork although it could also be used for serving muffins.  The Slice has a decorative handle with an embossed pattern to the front with a shaped and decorative terminal and a large flat circular slice which has a raised side at the back (by the handle).  The unusual shaped 5 pronged fork has the same decoration to the handle and then the fork part is an egg shaped and the 3 three middle prongs look a bit like a trident and then the 2 outside prongs are curved and form the 2 sides.  This is made from a good guage of silver with clear hallmarks.  This set would also make a good pie/pastry server

Dimensions:      The slice 8.5 inches long in total, the actual slice 2.75 inches in diameter.  The fork 8.25 inches long in total the actual 2 outside prongs are 2.5 inches long and just over 1.25 inches wide at the widest point.  The total weight of silver is 142g    

Condition:     There is some light surface scatching on both items, which is only to be expected on metal items.  The Fork does have some light pitting to the base of the trident shaped prongs and the slice has a little shallow crease at the very end, but having said all of the above it is quite minor              

Remarks:     An unusual serving set for tomatoes or muffins  

Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used.  Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark.  I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in "as new condition".
