This is a closed-hole design flute that plays in the key of C. It is equipped with offset-G keys and split-E mechanism. It is highly responsive and plays with a solid tone, accurate intonation and produces a crisp clear sound.

The solid silver headjoint will have a richer, more beautiful sound than an all silver-plated flute. As the silver content in the flute increases, the acoustic harmonic content of the sound will increase. Played side-by-side, a quality student flute with a sterling silver headjoint will usually sound richer, fuller and more interesting than an all silver-plated flute. For the intermediate student who shows a strong commitment to the flute, the silver headjoint is highly recommended.

The optimum headjoint can be of tremendous benefit in both reducing many of the frustrations of learning and in helping to produce a better quality of playing early in the learning process. It is very important that the formation of bad habits, especially in embouchure development, be avoided through the use of the best possible headjoint, along with high quality flute instruction. The headjoint supplied with this flute is constructed of 92.8% solid silver which means that it is STERLING SILVER. The body of the flute is silver-plated.
