I am delighted to be able to offer this very beautiful, craftsman-made Egyptian Cartouche Ankh pendant in Sterling Silver and sparkling faceted Blue Topaz. This is a stunning piece of jewellery, and incorporates all the amazing qualities of silver, the Goddess metal, and the protective symbolism of the Ankh, and this beautiful gemstone.

The pendant measures 40mm (1 5/8") x 23mm (7/8"), and the Blue Topaz is 7mm in diameter. This item is fashioned from fine, polished silver, plain silver at the back, and is beautifully finished with intricate detail. The pendant comes boxed with a quality silk drawstring purse. The Egyptian word ankh means "life", "to live", and the Ankh symbolized this cycle of life and its image translates into "eternal life". This meaning explains the high symbolic value of this sign, which was one of the most powerful religious symbols of Ancient Egypt. Ankh-life was seen as a gift of the Gods to Mankind, and was not restricted to any one specific God/Goddess. The Ankh frequently appeared in Heiroglypic texts and pictures, as well as in the form of Ankh-shaped objects, such as mirrors or mirror cases, some of which were found in the tomb of Tutankhamun. Even today, the Ankh remains one of the most recognized religious symbols on Earth, and is associated with death and the afterlife. The icon has been embraced by modern pagan, wicca, and other religious groups.

The word Topaz comes from the Sanscrit word for 'fire'. Topaz is highly prized, both for jewellery and for its healing and spiritual qualities, which are said to include protection from enchantment, sudden death and poisins and the ability to gain glimpses of the future. Blue Topaz has the additional quallities of aiding the regeneration of tissue, enhancing metabolism, and balancing the emotions. It is also said to aid healing, creativity, self-expression and psychic perception, and to aid with all forms of clear communication, as it corresponds with the Throat Chakra.
