Fabulous Victorian Gothic solid oak 12 panel doors dating from circa 1895.
You are viewing a matching set of 6 solid oak 12 panel doors, 5 of the doors are all exactly the same size measuring a massive 42" wide by 89" high and a hefty 2" thick, each door weighs around 70kgs.
2 of the doors are polished oak on one side and have been painted on the other side as they were used on cupboards, the other 4 doors are polished on both sides. The door that is half glazed is narrower measuring 36" wide by 89" high by 2" thick.
The doors have been recently removed from a large gothic mansion in Lancashire that was built in 1895 that is due to be demolished, I have full provenence and history of the doors that will be supplied to the buyer.
The doors have been carefully removed by hand therefore there has been no damage to the doors, they do have the signs of age with having had the locks and ironmongery on them changed over the years, the doors retain the original heavy cast brass hinges which are stamped V.R.
The doors each come with their original solid oak architraves which are beutifully made with an integral turned column and shaped base block, the architraves were all held to the door frames by large dome head brass screws with a + shaped head, the screws have been retained for reuse when the doors are fitted.
The doors are ready for collection, the buyer is to collect from near Blackburn in Lancshire or they can be delivered locally for the cost of fuel, I can possibly have my local antiques carrier deliver them within the mainland Uk, please get in touch for a price.
We can accept payment by cheque, postal order, bank transfer or payment on collection, we can only accept paypal as a deposit for this item.
