Set of 5 Antique Clay Pigeons Skeet Trap Shooting

Set of five 3 inch diameter clay pigeons. They are a little over 1/8" thick.

Came wrapped in L.A newspaper from 1929.

Dear thrall33,

I just wanted to tell you that the clay targets arrived unbroken-good packaging job! Also, I wanted to thank you for sending me the newspaper page with the 1929 date on it. This helps to firmly date the targets. Shortly after this date, and certainly no later than mid-1930, the rights to produce this target and the trap designed to throw it were purchased by the Peters Ammunition Company and the product was called "Duvrock." The Dickman Co. of Los Angeles produced the targets you have. They are the earliest (and original) Duvrock-style target. Unfortunately, not many people collect these items. I am most pleased to have the specimens. The one item I am missing in my collection is the iron mold that was supplied on request, along with the recipe of ingredients, so you could make and press your own targets! Always something else to look for. That's what makes collecting fun. Thank you again. -Joe
