For Auction: 1978 Serveta Jet 200 I bought this of Ebay in July as a Mugello 225. Unfortunately because of the distance/weather, I bought it home on a trailer. I say unfortunately because when I finally went for a spin on it a couple of weeks later, it seized within 15 miles. If I had tried ride it home when I bought it, I would have pushed it back to the b'stard. A couple of weeks later, I lost my job. So I had a choice of selling the scooter that needed to be rebuilt and lose a fortune, or pay for it to be rebuilt and then sell it and lose a slightly smaller fortune. As I couldn't stretch to another Mugello 225 and I've heard mixed reports about them anyway, I decided on a genuine SIL 200 Stage 4 (I have the receipt) as the block is a SIL 200. The engine was originally built by Cambridge Lambretta and I have the paperwork. The engine has been professionally striped, crank checked for realignment, new seals and gaskets. Ignition timing set to 19 BTDC with dial guage and strobe. I got it back yesterday afternoon, so the only mileage it has done is the road test plus me riding it home. Despite starting a new job next week, I still need to sell to start chipping away at the overdraft and credit card I have run up over the last 3 months so I am selling straight away, before I become too attached. Besides, the amount of miles I manage on scooter in a year, I wouldn't have this run in by this time next year! The scooter is obviously Spanish and imported and first registered in the UK on 07/10/2002. It is MOT'd until March 2010 taxed until Dec 2009. Other features:
This is a great looking scooter and once run in, will be a great ride. It's a shame that I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy it. The paint is metalflake but it's certainly not show-winning. Usual E-bay rules apply. Please only bid if you intend to buy and only bid on your own ID (I've been messed about before, you know who you are). Non-payers will be reported. Cash on collection or collection after a personal cheque has cleared. If you want to use Paypal, it must come from a verified address and the fees be borne by the winning bidder. Stricly no overseas bidders, they will be cancelled (last time I checked, Italy, Belgium, Austria are all overseas but you all still bid on my last auction). Bidders with less than 10 feedback will also be cancelled unless you contact me before bidding. Sorry, but since Ebay removed the negative feedback facility, people backing out of deals seems to be increasing. You can contact through E-bay or text me on 07751 440779 and I will endeavour to answer any questions within 24 hours. Viewing can happily be arranged. On 31-Oct-09 at 12:30:46 GMT, seller added the following information:Just to clarify - the paintwork is blue metalflake which has been applied in the lacquer. It's not the very best I ever seen but still looks great and would get plenty of attention. Perhaps I had made it sound worse than it is as a couple of people have asked about it. The side panels are blue and silver. On 07-Nov-09 at 17:01:24 GMT, seller added the following information:As at 17.00 on 07/11/09, there are 87 watchers. Looks like a few will be disappointed if you are all leaving it to the last minute............ |
