Steve's Morzine Blog :
24th March 2009 - The snow conditions this year are unbelievable. There is still lots of snow and the piste conditions are better than I've ever seen at this time of year. Just to add to it, we had another 6 inches or so last night, with a bit more forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
21st
January 2009 - More snow fell this week, and some more to fall this
week-end. If you don't ski every year, this is the year to really make
an effort. We have a few gaps left - feel free to make a sensible offer
- I can only say no !
22nd December 2008 - I haven't seen this much snow in many years - come and enjoy !
9th
December 2008 - Currently we have snow coming out of our ears, and its
just started again with the forecast saying 2 days of snow to come. The
skiing is as good as you'll get at the moment with lots of fresh snow
in perfect condition. Needless to say many of the lifts have opened
early, so there are plenty of pistes to attack.
23rd November
2008 - Winter is here - and so is the snow. A nice covering has fallen
at all levels of the ski area. Fingers crossed that this will form a
good base for lots more to come. Weeks are booking up now, so don't
wait too long !
23rd September 2008 -The high season is over and
peace descends once more on the Mountains. Leaves are now changing
colour into their Autumn splendour. This is a wonderful times to be
walking in the area. Many of the local restauranteurs are up early each
morning picking the local chanterelles. The Summer equipment is being
gathered up and stored for the winter to make way for the snow which
always arrives unexpectedly when you are not quite ready.
21st
August 2008 - For those of you who were fans of my previous Morzine
blog, apologies but it was getting a bit big, so I have decided to
start afresh for the new season. As you might guess we are in full
summer mode here in Morzine at the moment. The first signs of the end
of the season looming is the appearance of the favorite local
mushrooms, the girolles and chanterelles. My local restauranteur was
out yesterday morning and picked his first sack of the year. Looking
forward to skiing, the peak season weeks are now starting to book up,
so book early if you want to get a choice of dates.
