i don't have a import DC console, i use an import enabler CD that allows me to play import games. that being said, Ikaruga is a game i have on the Gamecube, and while fun, its a bit average. now this is a Shoot 'em Up with a gimmick. your ship can switch between light and dark, so you can switch between them on the fly, and you can avoid attacks of those colors. its challenging but to me it gets boring after awhile. great game to have though to play every once in a while.
The thing i like about ikaruga is they have cool music, better graphics, and great gameplay action where you can shoot enemies and avoid of being hit if you use the right shield on the enemy bullets. I decided to buy this rare masterpiece game because i never get to play ikauruga even though i seen and heard about it, although it came on the gamecube in the u.s but not on the sega dreamcast a long time ago in the u. version so it will be my first time playing it when i get it soon in the mail box.
Ikaruga is a real gem of a game, one of the finest on the Dreamcast. I played this for the Dreamcast years ago at a friend's house and recently got a copy for myself. If you're a fan of top down shooters, you really owe it to yourself to play this one. The polarity switching concept really makes the game awesome. Just as a warning it is a very difficult game. I still find the game amazingly fun and engrossing despite the high level of difficulty. I recently played the Xbox live arcade version of this game on a friend's Xbox 360. After putting the two side by side it was pretty clear that the dreamcast version controls much better. Even if you only have access to the 360 version (it is much cheaper and easier to get after all), I highly recommend this game.
