In our dive school, we introduced bright red suits, yellow fins, masks and snorkels.,  even yellow  weight integrated wings.the first school in the UK to do this ..we didn't care if our students thought it was not cool colour combination...we could always find ours when needed in our dark  UK waters a lot quicker than our fellow dive school operators could find thier students...

When was the last time you saw the RNLI turn up in a black boat and the crew wearing all black?  NEVER is the answer...Same applies to all rescue service..BE SEEN its vital . If you want to be found quick in any emergancy. ..If you  want to look like the SAS who actually do NOT want to be found, then join, you can wear black all the time...
                                          As a color for diving  equipment black must be the worst ever!

The strobe is a simple device and can be seen up to 5kl  on the surface and penetrates through gloom better than a torch underwater
Ideal for all the reasons above, and for night diving and low viz.
