Description

This auction is for a Fantastic Victorian boxed fork set.

The set is Scottish both in theme and origin. Each of the 2 forks has a thistle decoration at the end of its handle, also it was retailed through "Whytock & Sons" of Dundee.

The forks are extremely attractive with there thistle ends, etched floral pattern and Mother of Pearl handles.

The forks have a registration number which is 312011 which I believe dates them to the late 1890s. There is also a makers mark, it is difficult to read however it looks like A&DS

Each fork measures 115mm in length.

The box is a work of art in itself, beautifully coated with leather and padded with velvet and silk.

All in all a stunning set..............

Generally in excellent original condition with minmal wear. The forks would benefit from a clean
