Here is a hard to find early Lionel train car. This is the No. 16 Ballast or Dump Car made in the early 1900s. This is a Maroon body version with rare markings (I've never seen these before, any information would be appreciated). "Pennsylvania" in san serif black letters on both sides. On the right side is has the number "65784" and then in four lines " CAPACITY 60,000 WEIGHT 34500 - LENGTH INSIDE 36 FT. - M. C. B. COUPLER - AIR BRAKE". This has the flex trucks and hook coupler with ears. One coupler has a screw holding it in place rather than the rivet. The car measures 10-3/4" long. It is in very good condition for its age - as seen in the pictures. Trucks are nice and clean. Don't miss! Also, I'm selling a few other early Lionel std. gauge freights in separate auctions. Selling with NO RESERVE.
