NEW - WRAS approved, compact, high capacity 6" GAC filter
.
Don't be fooled by this little guy. It might not be as big as the 10" models but it still has a capacity of 6000 litres or 6 months!! That's 1000 litres a month! Or around 33 litres per day!! A lot more than the average 4 or 5 person family needs!
.
This filter is exactly the same as our other Hydro+ filters, WRAS approved and UK made, just in a smaller casing. And because it's smaller, it's cheaper and it also saves on postage costs.
Also.............. help the UK industry by buying a filter made in the UK! Why pay for a filter made in China or America when you can get one knowing it was made not so far from you?
.
So if you want a fridge filter that is excellent value for money and safe, knowing it's approved for your water supply, then this filter is your perfect choice!

TECHNICAL!
.
These filters are made from silverised granular activated carbon. Silver has been used since time immemorial to protect against bacteria growth, which is why in ancient times, royalty used silver drinking vessels.
.
GAC will remove chlorine and other volotile contaminants, making your mains water much more palatable.
.
To learn more about the difference between GAC and Carbon Block we refer you to the "Technical Note on Activated Carbon", below.
.
Technical Note on Activated Carbon
.
All of our fridge filters use either granular activated carbon (“GAC”) or extruded activated carbon (“carbon block”), and are the same as we use for our plumbed-in water dispensers. GAC has a labyrinthine, pore-like structure, with up to 1500 square metres of surface area per gram of carbon. That’s about a football pitch of surface area for every 5 grams. Quite literally, chlorine and other gaseous contaminants get trapped (“adsorbed”) within the structure by weak molecular forces known as Van Der Waals forces.
.
As the name suggests, Granular Activated Carbon consists of carbon granules. If you shake a GAC filter you can often hear the granules rattling. If these become unevenly distributed within the filter body, then channelling of the water can occur, reducing the effectiveness of the filter. “Carbon block” is made by pulverising the GAC, heating it and then extruding it in block form. The result is a finer, more efficient material, with even greater surface area and with even greater adsorbtion properties than GAC, and without the possibility of channelling.
.
AND FINALLY...
.
Whether you opt for a GAC or a Carbon Block filter, you will be safe in the knowledge that it is backed by our full money back guarantee. If you have any questions, feel free to email us. We will answer every single enquiry promptly.
.
It is recommended that these filters be replaced every 6 months.
