Synopsis:

[From the rear of the cover] Royal Performance Film - A film for the family that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Sammy Hartland (Fergus McClelland) is ten and alone in Port Said. His parents have been killed in an air-raid and his only relative is Aunt Jane, who he knows lives in Durban. So without considering the distance, Sammy sets out South to find her.

After dry days and menacing nights, 2000 miles on Sammy encounters Cocky Wainwright (Edward G Robinson, in one of his last screen appearances) who is sought by the police. The travelling pair carry on South together, though the police are alerted to look for them...

Presented here is the extremely rare, original UK 'St James's Film Distribution Release' version on VHS. This video is in very nice all-round condition. The cover is practically mint, save for a 3-inch splice down it's spine; the splice has not reached the base and it still holds together pretty well, looking intact while housed in it's large, padded rental box. There is no discolouration evident here and has suffered no blemishes or trimming etc. [please see scan below]. No sticker marks are evident here either; this is indeed a very nice example of such a rare video and certainly doesn't materialise on ebay very often!

Playback is really very good - particularly for a video of this vintage - Tape was released onto the UK rental market at least 25 years ago - and has never been re-released since!
