This item is for a very popular, compact and light hands free omni-directional presentation scanner from world leaders, Symbol. The model is the LS9208, which unlike the cheaper LS9203 and Metrologic MS7120 Orbit, features an optional single line laser button for precision scanning when lifted out of the stand. The spec. of this scanner is impressive - see link to the manufacturers information at the end of this listing. With a scan pattern reading at over a 1000 times a second, the criss-cross pattern of laser lines instantly reads the barcode however it is presented, with the minimum of practice. This scanner is in EXCELLENT used condition, complete with tilting stand and USB cable. The scan range on medium density codes is a maximum of about 6 to 8 inches, and instant reads are made even on awkward codes with the minimum of experience. The plug and play USB scanner works out of the box without the need for drivers or separate power. The barcode characters appear on screen at the current cursor position as if they had been typed in, so any application that will accept typed characters will work with this scanner !
