Exposure to UV rays can cause eye damage, but sunglasses marked with UV400 means the lenses block all harmful rays by preventing wavelengths of up to 400 nanometers. This covers UVA and UVB rays. UVC rays cannot pass through our atmosphere and are therefore unable to reach us.
