Very rare and long out of print 1992 4AD release from Swallow- for me, this is one of the very highest points of music that falls under the shoegaze and ethereal umbrellas. The story here is that 4AD swerved the duo of Swallow (Mike Mason, Louise Trehy) away from their original intentions when they created their debut album, "Blow". That album is by no means bad, but it pales in comparison to this...a limited release and radically different version that allows the duo to have their way. The sound is less of the Cocteau Twins meets Slowdive with a dash of My Bloody Valentine experience that Blow was...while all these elements are present, what takes the front is something unique and breathlessly beautiful- hazy, dreamy, narcotic, and one has to say incredibly sensual music. Experimental, psychedelic, and lovely- some of the best music of the 4AD output if you ask me. By the way, if you also can find the Swallow ep's prior to "Blow", I can promise you will be blissfully happy. Disc is in excellent condition, digipack is fine- just some light wear around edges. Not a promo. More information is below. Please feel free to email with any questions. Thanks for looking!

This album is a remix of the album  Blow that came out that same year (1992).  Some versions are radically different and some are just instrumental.  Apparently this was the band’s attempt to make a mix they were happier with than the Jon Fryer produced debut CD.  It tends to stay more towards the dreamy, narcotic and subdued end of the spectrum.  Not as noisy as MBV and not as poppy  as Lush. They were criticized for being a little late to the party and sadly underrated then forgotten.  I have lost millions of braincells to this record.    This is classic 4AD material in it’s peak! √mc
