About the Whistle.

Susato Whistles are quality instruments made in North Carolina USA.  They are made from a Special Durable ABS material which is tough, has great feel and is optimised to achieve one of the finest tones available.

This particular instrument is a standard fixed one piece whistle tuned to the key of D and measures appx 12 inches long.  It is of the latest generation and one of the ‘Very Small Bore’ Whistles that Susato produce.  The intonation is excellent as with all Susato Flutes and Whistles and the tone is precise, Clear, Sweet and projects really well.

The Susato Dublin is easy to play throughout its entire two octave range (making it a very good whistle for the beginner and the professional alike.)

In General: The size and geometry of a windinstrument’s bore determines the volume of a given instrument. The bigger the bore, the louder the sound; the smaller the bore, the softer the sound. To give whistle players a choice, SOME SUSATO™ Whistles are now available in two bore sizes: The high octave -Eb- and -D- are made with what we call a "Very Small Bore” and also with a slightly larger "Small Bore".

(These are arbitray names with no more meaning than distinguishing one bore size from another) The new “Very Small Bore" based whistles have therefore a “sweeter” sound but at a smaller volume of sound. Not being as “agressive” in sound in the upper parts of the second octave, such whistles will be preferable for playing alone or through microphones.

These whistles come in a sealed poly packet.  If you wish to return the instrument to us for any reason please do not break the seal on the packet.  We will not accept a whistle that has been blown into for hygienic reasons.  All of our whistles are NEW and unused.  We advise you never blow into a used whistle unless of course it is your own.
