Encouraged by the long-lasting popularity of Superman, DC decided to launch several follow-up titles. Titles such as Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane, and Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen concentrated on supporting cast, and superboy went back into his own past, telling of Clark Kent's adventures as a teenager.
The stories here were light-hearted and often gimmicky. A Bizarro-Superboy, Super-Baby, Super-Dog, and even a Super-Monkey were concocted for this series. Superboy's main problems, however, were balancing the need to save the world, protecting his secret identity, and fending off the romantic advances
of Lana Lang and others.
With issue # 231 the title became known as Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes. With issue # 259, Superboy faded from view, and the title's name changed offically to The Legion of Super-Heroes.

This attractive solid mid-grade beauty lies flat as a board...a few stress lines at spine and general area, some breaking color...a bit of a rough top edge at back cover...a 1-1/2" crease an wrinkle to the lower right corner...a tiny bit of abrasion bottom corner front cover...a 1/4" tear to the open end edge middle area of back cover...a tiny 1/4" crease bottom left corner of back cover...2-large creases that run across top left corner of back cover (one is 8", the other is 3") that also bend 1-inside page...some faint foxing near spine area of back cover...inside pages and covers excellent...centerfold staples are tight...fairly sharp corners and edges...normal handling wear here-n-there finishes the defects. This copy is a very clean copy that still retains outstanding appearance and excellent eye appeal. I will always be upfront with all the details about any item I sell/auction on eBay and before you place a bid or buy, that's why I also provided an extremely large close-up scan to get a good feel about this comic !
